Data Profile Before You Commit

We provide a profile of your existing Material Master and associated transactional data prior to suggestion any long term course of action. This process helps us frame the problems that are unique to your organization and dataset, while most manufacturing businesses share some common problems the unique circumstances around each organizations governance processes require some ad hoc analysis as part of our due diligence efforts.

Our data profile assessment contains information and statistics:

• Duplication and Close Match Rates - Estimation of duplication within the material master, duplication can result in invalid information on all downstream reports that reply on the Material Master as a source of information. Decisions made based on faulty information can have implications throughout the organization.
• Item Creation Rates - Identification of rates and patterns in additions, deletions, inactivation from the Material Master. This will help us predict the volume of changes and estimate the amount of time and effort required to provide ongoing Material Master Data Governance Services.
• Missing Value Rates - In many cases items are added to the material master with missing of default values. Excluding values or using meaningless default values makes it difficult for buyers and purchasing agents to effectively bid and source items. We will identify the rate at which values are missing.
• Spend Analysis Estimates - We will apply our spend analysis algorithms to identify items which we feel are being sourced at prices higher than expected or are being purchased at different prices throughout your organization. This problem can be extreme if you operate a global network of facilities that divide purchasing decisions and silo information.
• Incomplete Information - Identification of fields that are incomplete, such as partial part numbers or descriptions that only contain the part number or class, such as 'Hammer' rather than a complete description of the item as described by the manufacturer and supplier
• Proposal of Next Steps - We will include a proposal for an initial project to cleanse and enrich the existing items in your material master and a proposal for ongoing access to the SemanticFact Data Quality Platform that will provide a Data Governance framework to maintain a base level of Material Master data quality
