MRO Data Cleansing

Data Cleansing provides basic detection and correction of corruption in your MRO dataset. Data Cleansing is different from Data enrichment is that what you submit is what you get back with basic transformations and corrections applied. These basic transformations and corrections are limited to those that can be inferred from the profile of the dataset and the patterns that are identified during our initial scoping analysis.

Our MRO data cleansing service provides the following:

• Identification of Duplicates - Using the provided supplier, part number, and description data we can identify duplicate items
• Identification of Close Matches - Using the provided supplier, part number, and description data we apply our close match algorithms to produce a list of potential duplicates. You can then review this list and determine if the record should: remain separate, be delete transferred or inactivated, be merged with it's duplicates.
• Highlighting of Missing or Placeholder Data - Often when users are managing the material master they will use placeholder or default values when the real values are unknown, this is a shortcut to circumvent the MDM Data Governance process. We can Identify these values and recommend a corrective course of action.
• Validation against reference lists - In cases where you can provide a pre-defined reference list such as Classifications, Units of Measure, GL Accounts, or any other existing reference data we will identify values from the master data that are not in these reference lists.
• Column level statistics - Analysis of individual columns to identify anomalies by calculating values such as: mean, median, ranges, clusters, standard deviation or other statistical values that will help when planning future data governance or data quality initiatives.

MRO Data Enrichment

Data Enrichment builds on our data cleansing service by taking the output of the initial Data Profile and Data Cleansing efforts to enhance the dataset with information that cannot be inferred from reference lists of existing data within the organization.

Our MRO data enrichment service provides the following:

• Correction of Duplicates - Duplicates are corrected and audit trail of changes is captured.
• Recommended action for Close Match resolution - We analysis your duplicates and recommend a course of action to remove the duplication and prevent future duplicates from entering the dataset based on your custom business rules and desired outcome.
• Replacement and resolution recommendations for missing or placeholder data - We can update missing fields with values that we gather from external datasets such as manufacturer and supplier catalogs or the Semantic Fact MRO Material Master, a curated catalog of MRO items that already meet our Data Quality Standards
• Updates to reference lists - Correction of fields that are mapped to your existing reference lists but for one reason or another are out of sync.
• Purchasability Verification - We reference your items to the Semantic Fact MRO Material Master or reach out to our network of Manufacturers and Suppliers that work with us to provide current description and pricing information.
• Restructuring and Generation of descriptions - Descriptions are regenerated using our curated cataloging templates to define which attributes should be included in your descriptions. We define mandatory attributes and the order that they appear. We also supply short and long descriptions to use in your ERP.
• Application of Classification - Each record is assigned to one or more classification schema or taxonomies such as UNSPSC or our own SemFact Schema.
